Why Bermuda?

Chef Boucher would like to take you with him to one of his favorite places.

Bermuda is known as one of the friendliest destinations anywhere, with a tradition of warm hospitality.  Condé Nast Traveler’s 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards honored Bermuda with Best Island in its Caribbean and Atlantic category.  Bermuda offers beautiful pink sand beaches, rocky coves, abundant water- and land-based activities, seven championship golf courses, flavorful cuisine and fine dining, and cultural traditions from its British and African heritage.

September in Bermuda is still beach season, with perfect weather for outdoor activities and 80-degree temperatures.

We’ll enjoy four days and three nights docked in Bermuda, where we can explore all that the island has to offer.   We’ll also have opportunities to partake in some of Bermuda’s culinary delights.

Why a culinary cruise?

Experienced cruisers know that food is plentiful almost around the clock on most cruise ships, so what’s so special about this one?  Plenty!  As a guest on this cruise, you’ll partake in diverse culinary activities*, such as:

  • A private welcome cocktail party just for us in the Crow’s Nest lounge, as we meet each other over drinks and appetizers on our first evening aboard
  • Get-togethers with Chef Ron to learn about his background, approach, and goals, his approach to cuisine, his cooking techniques and tips
  • Cooking demonstrations by Chef Ron highlighting Bermuda cuisine in Holland America’s state-of-the-art Culinary Arts Center
  • Dining together in the ship’s beautiful two-level restaurant
  • An optional hands-on cooking class with the ship’s culinary staff
  • Optional shore excursions to meet resident chefs and attend a cooking class at one of Bermuda’s premier resorts.
  • A private wine/cheese tasting with premium wines and international cheeses as we wrap up the week and have our last dinner together

*Activities are subject to change based on numbers of passengers or factors beyond our control.
